Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hard courts
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has experienced a difficult year, achieving just one match at the big events and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.
The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - caused him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately separating with former mentor Gilles Cervara.
Now training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set victory over opponent Moutet.
It is Medvedev's first title following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface from that period of 2023.
The win also signifies he has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one various competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is really nice," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, featuring in that event in the past months.
His retrieving strategy and regular outbursts on court had caused some to doubt if his skill to play at the top level was concluded.
Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and play positively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
Medvedev recovered from a break down in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, winning four of the last five points to go ahead.
The pair swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his first professional victory, took control to push for a decider.
Moutet saved 4 early-game opportunities in a competitive third set before the champion won the break to that score to serve for the match.
Appropriately, he earned victory with a rally at the net, with Moutet unable to control a return after a lengthy match.
